PRINT

Metal paste is precisely deposited layer-by-layer to build up a part within the printer.

SHAPE

After a number of layers have been deposited, the printer’s high-speed cutting tools machine the part.

SINTER

In Mantle’s high-temperature furnace, the part heats and solidifies into dense, solid metal.

PRINT & SHAPE

The printer deposits Mantle’s Flowable Metal Paste layer-by-layer to build up a part. Once an entire layer is printed, it is heated to dry paste and make it firm enough for machining.

After a number of layers are printed, high-speed cutting tools machine the part to increase accuracy, improve surface finish, and refine features. Machining the dried paste is significantly faster than machining traditional solid metal.

These steps repeat to build and refine the entire part.

SINTER

In Mantle’s high-temperature furnace, the part heats and solidifies into dense steel with the accuracy, surface finish, and tool steel properties required for demanding applications.

PRODUCTION-GRADE TOOL STEELS

Mantle’s TrueShape process creates durable, stable tool steels that meet the demanding requirements of production tools.

Mantle’s tool steels include H13 Tool Steel and 420 Stainless Steel.
