Mantle Strengthens Leadership Team with Additions of Dana McCallum as VP of Sales and Mark Sloan as VP of Manufacturing

Industry Veterans Will Help Bring Precision Metal 3D Printing Solution to the Tooling Market

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — October 28, 2021 — Mantle, which has developed the most precise and efficient metal 3D printing solution for the tooling industry, announced that it has strengthened its leadership team by adding Dana McCallum as its Vice President of Sales and Mark Sloan as its Vice President of Manufacturing. Both McCallum and Sloan bring decades of experience launching and bringing products to market.

McCallum joins Mantle after six years at Carbon, a leader in the plastic 3D printing market. McCallum was the first person in Carbon’s sales organization and went on to develop and lead the Carbon Production Network, an ecosystem of injection molders and service bureaus offering part production services with Carbon’s technology. McCallum started her career at Thogus, a custom injection molding company, where she held roles in marketing and program management. McCallum serves on the board of Women in 3D Printing and the Society of Plastics Engineering Additive Manufacturing group. She is a past vice president of the Additive Manufacturing Users Group and recipient of its prestigious Distinguished Innovator Operators Award.

“Dana brings a unique combination of experience in injection molding, toolmaking, and additive manufacturing,” commented Paul DiLaura, Mantle’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Dana’s leadership will help us establish strong partnerships with our customers and support their efforts to change their tooling processes to lower lead times, costs, and cycle times.”

“I have devoted my career to helping manufacturers realize value through new technologies,” stated McCallum. “I joined Mantle because of our unique technology and focus on the tooling market. By helping toolmakers, molders, and OEMs produce their precision tooling components in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional manufacturing or other 3D printing processes, Mantle is poised to redefine toolmaking and help manufacturers develop and launch new products faster than ever before.”

Sloan joins Mantle after nine years at Sentient Energy, an IoT utility sensor company that was acquired by Koch Industries in 2020. Sloan built Sentient’s manufacturing organization and served most recently as its Executive Vice President of Manufacturing after serving as its Executive Vice President of Engineering. Sloan previously served as the Vice President of Operations at Finesse Solutions, a life sciences sensor company that was acquired by Thermo-Fisher. Sloan started his career as a Manufacturing Engineer at companies such as 3Com and Agilent Technologies.

“I have commissioned hundreds of tools throughout my career and I understand first-hand how lengthy and expensive tool development cycles can be – and how they slow product development and launch schedules,” stated Sloan. “I am excited to scale up production of Mantle’s precision metal 3D printing solution while developing our supply chain so we can help our customers change how they design and develop their tools.”

“Dana and Mark bring tremendous experience to our organization and to our customers, said Ted Sorom, Mantle’s CEO and Co-Founder. “Mark will ensure that we bring our first systems to market in 2022 while instilling rigorous quality and reliability standards. Dana will ensure strong customer partnerships from initial launch to widespread adoption. After emerging from stealth earlier this year and announcing our Series B financing last month, adding experienced executives like Dana and Mark is the next critical stage in our development that will support our long term growth.”
